~"The fertile void" was first introduced to me during my yoga teacher training at The Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health (www.kripalu.org
) a year and a half ago. My teacher, Devarshi Steven Hartman, passed on the concept which he had learned from Brahmanada, Dr. Don Stapleton, founder of Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica.
The fertile void is described as a period of time in the ongoing cycle of transformation - after a challenge, then resistance to the challenge, and impending chaos - when one faces the substance of the transformation. It is in the fertile void where the real questions arise, where the potential for growth and life is at its highest. Often, we humans try to rush this process; we want answers and we want them now. But if we are able to trust the process and allow it to unfold naturally, then we can integrate our experiences and find a new foundation to stand on.
This album is my attempt ask questions to which there may be no answers, allow my journey to unfold beneath my feet and to dive into the fertile void with an open heart.
